Terms of Service

Last updated: February 9, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using TheRunCloud ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What TheRunCloud Does

TheRunCloud is a running challenge leaderboard platform. Running clubs create distance challenges, and runners join by connecting their Strava accounts. Activities sync automatically and are displayed on public leaderboards.

3. Strava Integration

  • You must have a valid Strava account to use the Service
  • By connecting Strava, you authorize us to access your running activity data
  • We rely on Strava's data accuracy — we are not responsible for incorrect data from Strava
  • You can disconnect Strava at any time via Strava Settings

4. Public Leaderboards

When you join a challenge, your Strava display name, profile photo, and running statistics become publicly visible on the challenge leaderboard. This is core to how the Service works. Once joined, you cannot leave a challenge — but you can delete your entire account.

5. Anti-Cheat

We apply automatic filters to ensure fair leaderboards:

  • Activities with unrealistic pace (faster than 2:30/km or slower than 15:00/km) are excluded
  • Minimum distance thresholds apply per challenge
  • Treadmill runs may be included or excluded depending on challenge settings

We reserve the right to remove any data we reasonably believe is fraudulent.

6. User Responsibilities

  • Keep your Strava account secure — we authenticate through Strava OAuth only
  • Do not manipulate Strava data to gain an unfair advantage
  • Respect other participants and the spirit of friendly competition

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by visiting Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes all your data including your profile, activities, challenge entries, and OAuth tokens.

8. Service Availability

TheRunCloud is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Activity syncing depends on Strava's API availability. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheRunCloud and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is free).

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
